Why not the guy down the street? PDF Print E-mail
I just got off the phone with a potential client.  He called and got our name from a trusted freind after telling that frient that they've been through 3 "IT guys" in the past 2 months.  They still don't have a functional office.  The worst part is, they've stuck over $12,000 into their office within the past year!  There's no reason they should be having problems, however they can't even print to a shared printer.  I will be going there today to do one of our very popular FREE SITE SURVEYS in which I'll analyze their current operation, equipment, and overall goals of what they want from their small office setup.  From there I will make some reccomendations and put the right people on the project to ensure that they're $12,000 system is NOT what's holding them back from doing what they do best.  Many folks know someone that is the IT Guy at ABC Company, or "is really good with computers".  The problem most times is that even though they may know technology, the might not have your business's goals and budget in mind when reccomending really "cool" stuff.  They might not understand what being a small business owner is like and reccomend the wrong thing because it worked for someone else.  Worse yet, they might not be able to resist the "Hero" status that comes along with the quick fix.  The problem being that it's very short lived and sooner or later the business owner is going to realize things are being "fixed" a lot more than normal or the same problem keep raising it's ugly head.  The moral of the story here is make sure you've got good support whether it be an IT guy or a fellow small business like us.  Remember, it doesn't cost a penny for us to come in and take a look around and throw out a few suggestions!
