First Choice has the ability to connect to your computer from our offices and fix many problems remotely, as long as you have a high speed internet connection and can access the internet!
The advantage is that our standard in-store rates apply instead of on-site rates, and we do not have to charge for down time. While working on computers here at our office in Sheboygan, we can set a scan to run and simply walk away. We do not charge for this time like some other providers. This is known on the computer industry as "bench-time". We find it unethical to charge "bench-time" because we can use times like this to work on other systems. However, if we're in your home we obviously must charge for the total time we're there whether it be spent working on your system or staring at a loading bar. Traditionally we've always told out customers that it is most cost effective to bring your system in. However that's no always an option. But now with our remote support option, you don't have to unhook all the wires and lug in your system just to have us to a checkup. Most times we can at least give you a solid estimate before bringing in your system, or even fix the problem right there!
